1What the app collects

Nothing. Your photos, their contents, their file names, your folder structure and what you do in the app are handled entirely on your own computer and are never transmitted. There is no analytics, no usage tracking and no automatic crash reporting built into the app.

2The app's only outbound connection

A few seconds after it starts, pictkura checks whether a newer version has been published. That automatic check happens at most once a day (the "Check for updates" button asks immediately, each time you press it). The request carries only "pictkura version X is asking" — no photos, no file names, no folder paths, and no identifier for you or your machine.

The check reads GitHub's release information. As with any network request, your IP address is visible to the party you connect to (GitHub, Inc.). Turning off Settings → About pictkura → "Check for updates at startup" means the app never reaches the network at all (the "Check for updates" button next to it still asks, once, when you press it).

3Cloud-only files

Files marked "online-only" by OneDrive and similar services are never downloaded by the app on its own. The real file is fetched through the OS only when you actually look at that photo — when its tile scrolls into view, or when you open it in the viewer.

4This website

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.). For operational and security purposes, that provider may record connection data including your IP address; see their own privacy documentation for the details.

The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts (Google LLC), which means your IP address and browser information are sent to that service.

The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. There is no advertising. The manual bundled with the app — the one opened from its settings — makes no outbound requests whatsoever.

5What we receive when you get in touch

Bug reports and requests are handled through GitHub Issues. Conversations there are public and show your account name. Please do not post personal details such as contact information.

6Changes to this policy

Any change is published on this page with a new revision date. Significant changes are also noted in the release notes.
